
What Is Coaching?
Coaching is a series of confidential guided conversation between two equals (coach and client) that addresses the whole person: Past, Present and Future; and achieve positive outcomes when the client is prepared to articulate, explore, and reflect on development areas which ultimately facilitate positive change. Coaching done well will help a client to:

Clarify underlying motivations, interests and abilities and connect these to future paths

Reflect on personal traits, develop goals and purpose, explore issues or challenges

Identify and set personal and career development priorities
Coaching topics are open and set by the client, and the directed conversation subsequently gives the client a framework to reflect, articulate and explore developmental areas around the topic and take ownership of their learning, through deliberate and reflective process of setting and tracking personal goals, actions and progress.
Focusing on the present creates actionable strategies for the future and in doing so clarifies underlying motivations, interests, and abilities, while connecting these to exciting future pathways.
